DescriptionThomas Gibson Bowles was born on January 15, 1841 as the illegitimate son of Thomas Milner Gibson and his servant girl, Susannah Bowles. He was the founder of Vanity Fair and Lady magazine in England. He was elected to the House of Commons in 1892 and died during a trip to Spain on January 12, 1922.
