| Description | A letter from James Graham to his sister, Agnes, dated November 11, 1864. James writes to his sister that he is healthy and in good spirits. He says that he expects to be on picket duty that night, and that he will certainly be kept busy for some time digging rifle pits about two miles from his current camp. He writes that his regiment is assigned to build a four mile, corduroy bridge [which is made of small trees laid close together] and that they only have sixty rods of it completed. He tells Agnes that he believes that she can board at John Pearce's home, and that Pearce wishes for her to keep his wife company. He also mentions how a David and Paul received a letter from Sarah J. Heel, who has a "sore leg, " which she will have to have amputated. He concludes the letter by reporting that James Hannah, Robert Martin, and William Urey are all well. |
