| Transcript | TWO MATRIMONIAL EVENTS. Rev. A.N. Warner, of Montoursville, Figuring in Two Weddings Inside of An Hour Last Night. Between 7 and 8 o'clock last evening Mr. W.C. King, the efficient clerk in the office of Prothonotary Follmer, and Miss Ella F. Campbell, both of this city, were married at Montoursville at the Lutheran parsonage, by Rev. A.N. Warner. They drove down from this city, accompanied by a couple of friends, and at the close of the ceremony they returned here and took up their quarters at the home of the bride, Mulberry street, where they will in the future reside. A reception will be given Mr. and Mrs. King at the home of the groom's parents, near the city, next week. The wedding was a very quiet one, the groom being as reticent as a winter oyster about it until the event had taken place. His friends, who are very numerous and warm, will, however, congratulate him none the less heartily when they hear of it. JARRETT-HOFFMAN. As soon as Mr. Warner got through with the above wedding at Montoursville, he had to drive rapidly to this city where he was billed for another performance of the same kind, to take place at the residence of Mr. Samuel Hoffman, No. 17 ½ Vine street. The hour for the minister's appearance there was 8:30, and he was on time to the minute. The candidates for the matrimonial office here were Mr. H.A. Jarrett and Miss Sarah Hoffman, both of Rocktown, the ceremony taking place at the home of the bride's brother. A good sized company witnessed the solemn service. While Prof. C.D. Green played an appropriate selection in excellent style on the organ the principals marched in and halted before the minister, who quickly joined them in holy wedlock. Congratulations followed, after which an elegant banquet was partaken of by all present. This proved a very enjoyable part of the programme. The wedding presents were numerous, embracing a wide variety of articles including many of a substantial character, and a good array of silverware. Mr. and Mrs. Jarrett will shortly begin housekeeping in a fine residence of their own, now nearly completed, on Market street, Rocktown. They have the kindest and warmest wishes of hosts of friends for an unclouded married life. |
