The building, one of the most complete and commodiuous playhouses in Central Pennyslvania, was erected in 1892, and many historic plays were enacted on its stage by famous performers. Forty years ago, the week's attractions included Sidney Drew in "The Gilded Age." The theater building housed a sporting goods store, millinery, other shops, lodge rooms, and offices. The Repasz Band lost valuable band instruments, souvenir pieces, and records in the blaze. The accompanying pictures include a view after the fire and one of the stage." |
