south
side
of
Second
Avenue
west
of
Liberty
Street
to The
Point.
The
fourth
frame
building
from the
corner
housed
Smith's
shoe
store;
next
was the
Central
Clothing
Store.
The
large
three-story
building
, the
Watson-Davis
block
,
contained
offices
and
plant
of the
weekly
newspaper
, the
'Warren
Mail'
as
well
as the
Beecher
and
Copeland
hardware
store.
This
block
is
now
(2004)
the
site
of
both
the
Northwest
Savings
Bank
and
National
City
Bank.
