Warren Savings Bank at The Point (circa 1890)
Description
The
Warren
Savings
Bank
and the
three-story
Watson-Davis
block
immediately
behind
about
1890.
These
buildings
and
two
others
attached
to the
east
were
destroyed
in a
February
1889
fire.
They were
replaced
in
1891
by the
new
Warren
Savings
Bank
building
,
now
(2004)
National
City
Bank.
On
either
side
of the
triangular
block
,
across
Liberty
Street
, are
left
,
Johnson's
Exchange
, and
right
, the
Struthers
Hotel.
The
latter
building
was
razed
in
2003
to be
replaced
in
2004
by a
new
headquarters
building
for
Northwest
Savings
Bank.
